I was already in the thick of morning sickness and had no energy to do much. I decided on this particular morning that I was going to muster up some energy to vacuum the carpet in the living room. As I was doing so, I heard my cell phone ring. It was the school. It scared the dickens out of me since I have never had a call in the 3 years Miss H has been in school. I was told she had an accident on the playground and that I probably should come up to the school. I quickly got myself dressed and headed to the school. When I got there she started to cry a wee bit. She hadn't until that point. She hadn't seen herself either and was very scared. I didn't let her look. I just held her and assured her it would be okay but I knew we needed to get her checked out at the Emergency Room.

* Brady was still home at the time so he and Hunter got dressed and met us at the hospital.

Luckily after a few scan's, no bones were crushed and her brain was fine. She went back to school a few days after the incident but wanted to go back on the 2nd. Her class and the office sent home some sweet notes. Along with a confession from the little boy who she collided with. She was running in one direction chasing a playground ball- he the other. They never saw each other. The playground monitor witnessed it all and was able to tell me what happened. Terrible price she paid and I wish it had never happened. The bruise lasted forever and took the better part of a year for some scar tissue to dissolve. The little boy just bonked the back of his head. I'm sure it hurt though. She went to school happily even though she got lots of stares and questions about what in the world happened. She's my happy go lucky, forgiving, resilient girl and I love that about her. She has gotten a bad rap because in the past she has been known for her clumsiness. I think it is because she is super flexible and her body has grown rather quickly. We would lovingly tease her then BUT since this accident, she has had very few "clumsiness" incidents and has taken offense to it. She is a different girl now and she is growing up. In fact she won't tell you unless you are her parents, but her feelings do get hurt when comments are made when she does happen to trip or fall now. She is not like the old clumsy Hailey and although she is still growing like a weed, she's more in control of her limber body. Love you sweet Hailey. You are precious to me and even though these pictures are horrible, you can still see how happy you are despite the pain!
