We decided to drive back to Old Faithful to have dinner in the lodge and so that Brady could check on his business.  Cell phone service inside Yellowstone is limited and only the larger areas have reception. As we started nearing our destination, his phone started going off like crazy. So many messages were coming in and it was beeping away. We got there just as they were shutting things down but we quickly grabbed some food and sat down. We were also kinda in a rush because one of the roads back to our cabin closed at 9 or 10. Once we realized we weren't going to make it in time, we tried to relax. Brady and I both got trout which was super yummy but we didn't get to enjoy it at all. He was busy checking messages and scarfing down food and so was I. The cleanup crew started in on their business and eventually we finished and left. We did spy a little mouse roaming around on the floor which tickled Hailey. She said she saw a trap in the fireplace.

After dinner, we checked out the gift shop and I let Hailey buy something. She chose a cute little deer which she named Rose. Hunter picked out a really soft brown bear. I wanted something with a bison on it and found a shirt I liked. Brady got a better looking jacket. Token gift items checked off!

Then we made the long trek back to our cabin the other way. It took us over an hour at dark which was bummer. Sorry Daenon and Jennifer! We all had our night eyes on preparing for potential crossing wildlife. We saw some and happened to see some deer crossing the street right after they crossed a river/stream. They were all wet. The kids fell asleep and we eventually arrived. Hailey woke up and shared a snack with us though. Brady bought a salad and didn't want it to go to waste so we just took the plastic bowl with us!
