Hailey had another round of private swimming lessons last week. Her teacher had an unexpected engagement on her Friday lesson and she wound up canceling her lesson on Wednesday due to the brief rain shower. I was bummed a little because she only had 3 lessons this year. But she did really good in those three lessons. She learned how to do "windows". That is where she was supposed to swim from one side of the pool with her hands clasped together in front of her and her face in the water. Did she like it? Not one bit but she did it. I found out she can swim better than I thought. She just needs a "kick start" as her teacher said. Now we just need to get ourselves to the pool so she can practice!

Rewards work really well for Hailey. I asked her what she might like after completing her lessons. She told me she wanted little colored chocolates with sprinkles on them, a breakable picture of Heavenly Father (glass framed one), and a large cardboard box that she can turn into a hotel (with a promise that I won't put it outside for it to get rained on and then I smash it up and put in in the trash. Cardboard boxes in the the house annoy me after awhile and that is usually where they end up!) We have the chocolates covered and she has really enjoyed them. Her aunt Jennifer had some in a candy dish at Thanksgiving last year and apparently she has wanted them ever since. She saw them in the candy aisle last week at Walmart and that triggered her memory of the delicious little treats! Still working on gathering the other two items!
