Childood Memories

Brady's parents bought him this cool playhouse when he was a little boy. He and his little brother spent many hours in it I am sure. They had it moved here years ago and it is in the perfect location for such adventures and dreaming. I would have loved to have Hailey and Hunter play on it but it was way beyond repair and not safe at all. The support beams and planks were all rotten and every last one would have needed to come out - except for the staircase. That part is still in good condition. So off to the burn pile it went and new memories will be made with a replacement for our children. We are looking into finding a new structure. The barn out back needs some repair. We are hoping to find something that might serve two purposes. One part could be to house the lawn equipment and the other a play fort!  We will see.  It is fun to look things up and dream. I loved playing in the one my grandfather built. It was a two story one. The top was a two bedroom play area and the bottom was for grandfather.  He housed his stuff below and kept pretty birds. We had a jungle gym growing up that was pretty cool too. Hailey has an awesome one at the lake house and a simple swing set here so the future one needs to be a fort/playhouse! I had to post these pictures of his old playhouse for posterity and to use as a potential new building guide.

I love this!
What a perfect fort! - Loved the hours as a kid we played in the house my dad built, my Gma H had a tree fort - it was sweet, we would climb to the top of the mulberry tree and could see for miles! My Grpa M had a small platform in the tree we would dance on. Some great memories!

There is an epic story behind Santa's delivery of that fort! Mrs. Clause had chosen this for the Tucker boys - you know, Mrs. Clause does help out during the busy Christmas season at the North Pole. Santa tried to put it on his sleigh - but it was much larger than Santa expected and much too heavy for the reindeer to fly with. So, they drove the sleigh down I-35 from the North Pole. It was cold and windy that night. As Santa and the reindeer rounded a curve, the Oklahoma wind caught the fort and it went sliding off the sleigh right into the middle of I-35. Luckily, there were many elves around and they helped Santa lift the fort back onto the sleigh. Santa with the help of the elves, got the fort delivered just in time for the Tucker Boys Christmas surprise! That fort held lots of memories. At least the stairs are still standing - they were rebuilt by Smokey and Kelsey. Guess they should have replaced the other parts, too.
